Coaching with Dr. Laura

Recognizing that you want something different—and choosing to move forward with it—is an act of courage.

Whether you’re navigating a significant life transition, integrating what you’ve learned in therapy, making sense of chronic stress, reconnecting with your body, or building a life that better reflects your values, coaching provides a collaborative space for growth, education, and meaningful change.

Many people seek coaching because they understand why they feel the way they do—but they’re looking for guidance as they put that understanding into practice. Coaching is an opportunity to deepen self-awareness, strengthen nervous system regulation, develop sustainable habits, and intentionally build a life that feels more aligned, connected, and authentic.

The individuals I work with are often navigating the long-term effects of trauma, chronic stress, nervous system dysregulation, major life transitions, whole-body health concerns, or midlife changes that intersect with emotional and relational wellbeing. Many are also healing from religious trauma, domestic violence, coercive control, family-of-origin dynamics, or other experiences that have shaped how they relate to themselves, their bodies, and the world around them.

Although coaching is not psychotherapy or medical care, it is deeply informed by my background as a psychotherapist, trauma specialist, educator, and researcher. My approach integrates trauma science, nervous system health, embodiment, behavior change, and whole-person wellbeing to help you move beyond insight and into meaningful, sustainable change.

Your story is unique, and so is your path forward. Together, we’ll develop practical strategies, deepen self-trust, strengthen your capacity to navigate life’s challenges, and cultivate a way of living that reflects who you are becoming—not simply what you’ve survived.

Dr. Laura’s Approach

Coaching offers a unique opportunity to bridge insight and action.

Many people come to coaching with a deep understanding of their history. They’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts, spent years in therapy, or have done significant personal work—but they’re looking for support in translating that knowledge into everyday life. My role is to help you integrate what you’ve learned, strengthen your capacity, and create meaningful, sustainable change.

Every coaching relationship is individualized. Together, we’ll identify your goals, clarify what’s getting in the way, and develop practical strategies that align with your values, priorities, and vision for your life. My approach is collaborative, educational, and deeply rooted in whole-person wellbeing.

Although coaching is not psychotherapy, it is informed by more than 15 years of experience as a licensed marriage and family therapist, trauma specialist, educator, and researcher. I integrate principles from Somatic Experiencing®, Internal Family Systems (IFS), nervous system regulation, embodiment, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Attachment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and current research on trauma, chronic stress, behavior change, and human development. Rather than treating mental health conditions, these frameworks provide practical tools for increasing self-awareness, building resilience, strengthening self-trust, and supporting lasting growth.

Many of the individuals I work with are navigating the long-term effects of trauma, chronic stress, nervous system dysregulation, whole-body health concerns, sleep disruption, burnout, major life transitions, or the physical and emotional changes that can accompany midlife. Others are healing from religious trauma, spiritual abuse, domestic violence, coercive control, family-of-origin wounds, or other experiences that have shaped how they relate to themselves, their bodies, and the world around them.

I believe meaningful healing extends beyond reducing symptoms. It involves reconnecting with your body, rebuilding trust in yourself, understanding the patterns that once helped you survive, and intentionally creating a life that reflects who you are today. Coaching provides a space to develop practical skills, deepen your capacity, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and intention—all at a pace that honors your autonomy and your unique journey.

Dr. Laura does NOT have any sliding scale spots available at this time

Dr. Laura does not sell packages of sessions or memberships; she believes that the decision regarding how frequently and how many sessions a person needs should be determined by the client and therapist jointly. However, Dr. Laura recommends coming weekly for the first 2-3 months and then moving to every-other week if that is amenable to the client and the work you are doing.

Not sure where to begin?

You don’t have to commit to ongoing coaching or therapy to receive meaningful support.

If you’re looking for expert guidance, want help making sense of your experiences, or simply aren’t sure what the next step in your healing journey should be, a Trauma Recovery Intensive may be the right place to start.

The Trauma Recovery Intensive is a focused, one-on-one consultation designed to help you gain clarity, identify priorities, and develop a personalized roadmap for moving forward. Whether you’re navigating religious trauma, complex trauma, chronic stress, major life transitions, or feeling overwhelmed by where to begin, this intensive provides dedicated time to ask questions, explore patterns, receive individualized feedback, and leave with practical next steps.

A Trauma Recovery Intensive may be especially helpful if you:

  • Want expert guidance before committing to ongoing coaching or therapy.

  • Feel stuck and need help identifying your next steps.

  • Have spent years learning about trauma but aren’t sure how to apply that knowledge to your own life.

  • Want to better understand your nervous system, patterns, or experiences.

  • Are looking for a personalized, whole-person approach rather than generalized advice.

  • Would benefit from a clear roadmap and thoughtfully curated resources tailored to your situation.

Please note: The Trauma Recovery Intensive is an educational consultation and does not establish a therapy, coaching, or other healthcare relationship. It is not a substitute for psychotherapy, medical care, or crisis services.

Coaching at the Center for Trauma Resolution and Recovery

Dr. Laura realizes that she may not be a fit for every person seeking support in their healing journey–whether that is because of the areas she specializes in, her price point, or needing a sliding scale. To that end, she founded the Center for Trauma Resolution and Recovery (CTRR). CTRR is an online trauma coaching company with trauma informed and trauma trained practitioners. CTRR practitioners work with clients resolving and recovering from high control religion, fundamentalism, adverse religious experiences, purity culture, religious trauma and more.

All CTRR coaches offer a free inquiry call so that you can see if they are a good fit for you. To read more about the practitioners who are currently available to take clients and schedule you’re FREE inquiry call, click here!
