In the early days of my healing, I thought I had to forgive. That forgiving would make me “good,” or healed, or finally at peace. But I realized what I really needed was space.

▪️Space to rage.
▪️To grieve.
▪️To say: “That hurt me.
Forgiveness isn’t the only way forward—especially when it’s forced or expected before you’re ready.

You get to choose what healing looks like for you. Your boundaries are not bitterness. Your grief is not a grudge. Your rage
Forgiveness is a personal choice—not a moral requirement.

Especially after religious trauma, purity culture, or abuse, the pressure to “let go” too soon can delay deeper healing.
